Why I love April

The early-season standings ultimately don’t mean very much. But I love looking at them anyway. Here’s why:
AL Central
1. Kansas City 3-0
NL East
1. Washington 3-1
Those are two franchises who aren’t expected to compete at all this season, and haven’t been relevant in a long time. But for a few days at least, Royals and Nationals fans can celebrate.
I’m so glad baseball’s back.

What’s stranger still is that the Tigers are 0-6 now. Haha. Not the start Miguel Cabrera would envision after signing himself away for the next eight years.
